A limited number of these penholders was given to dignitaries to celebrate the opening of the department store in Eindhoven on March 18, 1969. This date is also engraved in the copper shell.

The design is from 1967 and based on different variations on the cylinder shape. However, the product has its own characteristics through slight design changes. Today, the Cylinda Line is part of several permanent collections in museums around the world. The line also received several prizes: in 1967 d ID Prize for Industrial Selskabet Formgivning and in 1968 the International Design Award from The American Institute of Interior Designers.
