The higher value of money, economists in search of spiritual dimensions, the world of money and matter is reeling, scientists are developing theories about a higher reality, religion and spirituality are no longer affairs for outside office hours. Artists anticipate the developments with their ‘’farewell to matter‘’ and now it’s the economists’ turn, it’s time economists wrest themselves from the triviality of money and reflect on a ‘’higher ‘ reality … this is, are the themes of the philosophy of the symposium. [spirituality is also often linked to becoming ecologically conscious]

[ an initiative of the ING-bank September 1990 . - Beuys.. disconnect money and value [ Louwrien Wijers], // limits to growth in Tao, Teilhard and western thought [ Allerd Stikker ] // gaiasophy [ Kees Zoeteman ] // the leading man of the new era, Fritjof Capra, criticizes capitalism as the source of all misery, from alienation to scarcity of raw material //
many renowned international speakers from the three disciplines, among others the artist Lawrence Weiner, have participated in this symposium
during these sessions I have had a conversation with the Dalai Lama [appr. 10 minutes], he told me .. three things are important .. stay calm, don’t do a lot, have patience
September 1990, now after almost 20 years, these themes are under discussion all over the world, fortunately, WCR May 2008
